I finally found the time to peruse for fanfiction and the motivation to make a proper post. To be honest, the recent development in the manga had much to do with it. I felt revived and it all started with Gaara waking up (not Akatsuki but yours truly has a very soft spot for this character). And of course I'm known for being lazy ~ but then what lies within this post are great finds in my opinion and I must share :D

Fanfiction:

[1] Rules by The Marmaladecat 1 This is a oneshot story featuring Sasori and Deidara. I enjoyed it thoroughly because I love seeing how readers portray the interaction between these two characters, I'm always excited on how their relationship will be treated and what conversations will transpire. In my humble opinion this fic does not disappoint at all. Makes perfect for a good read.

[2] Limits by The Marmaladecat 1 I love this piece because it is Kisame's point of view and it is an eloquent portrayal of his character. Kisame is in equal footing with Itachi, his character not moving in the shadow of the Uchiha. To me that's such a brilliant approach. The author made Kisame shine. The innuendo part was written out thoughtfully. There's something about Itachi's detachment and Kisame's passive acceptance that makes for chemistry.

[3] Leave it to Deidara by Tidal Rabbit She has updated the ficcy! This part leaves you hanging, but Deidara does not fail delivering laughs with his sweet-rather-dumb disposition *heart* I wish there was more, sincerely!

Shrine Update : Sasori

Sasori Shrine is now open and completed. The writer's ability to relay exact and necessary thought makes the article prolific and very much understandable. So it is understandable that many a manga/anime related clubs are created within that eCommunity. Desktop items like wallpapers, themes, icons and winamp skins are available within. And you'll be happy to know that there are three prominent Akatsuki-related clubs found there.

[1] Akatsuki Club @ Deviantart I have recommended this site before, and it's only fitting to include it once more. It really is a good place to start looking for items and artwork, a mesh of styles and ideas that's just so good to take all in and a good reason to take pride in being an Akatsuki fan. Hell yes...I can be very dramatic.

[2] Itachi Club @ Deviantart The fangirl in me is happy. very happy with this club. It has prompted me to create my own deviantart account (even if my graphic skills are sub-par) I just want to be part of this club. The site boasts of wallpapers and there's even a comic of Tayuya x Itachi (with various reactions from different characters in the anime). I love crack-fanart and yes, there's an abundance of that in there as well. there's also a listing of other related clubs - Naruto related in general. I wear my Itachi fan proudly *^_^*

[3] Sasori Club @ Deviantart It's like the baby of Akatsuki clubs for now -- For our dearest Sasori *luv* I found this club out through the Itachi club - it was advertising it heavily in the profile section. It's that kind of coming together of fans and the like, and here's to me hoping that in the future one for Kisame, Deidara, Zetsu, Leadersama and soon to be revealed members will pop up. BUT if you know any that's already existing I am always, always open for referrals (complete with credit of course).

As fans we immortalize the characterswe love by remembering and dedicating things big or small to them. It's not duty that dictates this but our bond with the characters and how they affected us during the course of their activity in the series we adore.

These are but a few of many (for I know in my heart there are MANY) Akatsuki fansites/shrines out there in the world wide web. The following are shrines to Itachi and Sasori. I shall be on the search for more - just a little patience. As a fansite it offers details that is surely vital to any Itachi supporter (me included). I love the site - because the information it presents is well organized, it's not confusing at all to peruse through the contents. I'm not sure if it's viewer-friendly for everyone. the color scheme for the site is red and black.

[2]Blood Stained : Fansite/Gallery for Itachi I love the layout *_* but it takes a while to load for me. The site is viewer friendly and easy to navigate. The colr scheme of the site appeals to me.

More Japanese Fanart Websites for the Akatsuki Fans!

This is a continuation of an earlier post which can be found here. A collection of Japanese websites feauturing fanart of the Akatsuki boys. This post could not have been possible without the help and contribution of mellychan the moderator of akatsuki_love, thank you so much. Now, on to the list:

[1]Akatsuki Gen I have to say that the index page for this site is adorable. It took a while for it to load (for me as I have slow connection) but when it came out it was fabulous. The Itachi and Sasuke fanart was truly wonderful. The site uses frames which makes navigation easy, and the loading time is no problem as well. The site is viewer friendly. As for the images, the site features mostly Itachi art, but there were some ItaDei, ItaDeiSaso, Deidara and one of Sasori where he was doing his puppet thing (which is way too cool for school) *^^*

[2]Itachi|Deidara This is one of those sites that I was glad i went to because it surprised me with it's many hidden treasures. Well first of all the site is easy to navigate, pictures load fast and it's viewer friendly (major frames work but still okay!). Anyway back to the art...how exquisite the images were - the artist made Itachi real pretty and fragile-looking; like one of those images that fashion designers use when they make clothes. Another thing is that the artist incorporated traditional Japanese style where the lines are prominent but the fillers are light. And then (excuse the fangirling) the best surprise for me was the Kimimaro image. iwas going my merry way - clicking and clicking and clicking -- until viola! I found him, sitting all beautiful and looking gay as ever *^_^* (Kimi-kun should be with Gaara. Un!)

[3]Deidara Well color me happy - but the CGIs created by the artist were beautiful. The Akatsuki favorite was Deidara and he was represented beautifully. The site is viewer friendly, easy to navigate and filled with various images. There's that Hinata image with a purple aura (I thought it was terribly cute *^_^*). Itachi is in the latest update *sparkle*

[4]Akatsuki Fan Comic (Jp) There is a wide array of wacky stuff that the mangas feature, there's one strip where Itachi hides behind Kisame - squicked at what Zetsu has said. the best thing about drawing is that you can easily tell the situation and emotion the characters are showing without actually having to understand the words they're saying in the script. There is also a Gaara/Deidara comic strip that looks interesting hmmm (kimimaro muse: NOOOO! Gaara MINE!) and then there's the sasori fanart that looks so beautiful. But by far - my most favorite feature in this site is the omake drawing of Zetsu on the index page. It's so cute.

[5]Deidara May i just say that the layout of the site is so pretty to my eyes. And the lovely Deidara sprites scattered all over the index page are lovely. The artist's obvius favorite is Deidara but there are also Akatsuki featured in general. the drawing style is funky, very contemporary and street - I love it. But i won't go too far as to saying <strike>it reminded me of MTV cartoon DARIA</strike>...There's one illustration featuring Kisame, Itachi, Sasori and Deidara (click here) and I can't help but fall over with cuteness at how Sasori was represented - punk all the way huh? *love* it!

By: Mangenkyou
mangenkyou@gmail.com

Not to defy storylines or anything, it just gives me an idea of how creative a writer is, i always look out on how good a person can weave the characters, plot, and time line together. This story is Itachi-centric and ventures to explain/show another side of the Sharingan heir. The writing style is direct and the writer says what he/she wants, the way he/she wants it said. As an adventure fic - it does its genre proud. I can say that I too feel like i'm part of the action. The fic is ongoing and is on it's 19th chapter.

[2]Leave it to Deidara by Tidal Rabbit I want everyone to know that I'm RAVING about this fic. R A V I N G! Not only is it funny, it's prolific. it's an Itachi fic but the participation of Deidara, Sasori and Kisame are evident if not the lifeblood of the scenes. The author's wit and humor comes through perfectly. Imagine Itachi eating koala snacks and Sasori wanting to make a puppet out of Itachi. It's truly a gem. I love the plot and it gave me a whole new scope into how i see Itachi. The fic is ongoing and is on it's second chapter. I hope and pray that the author updates soon. Because I'll be watching out for this story.

[3]Black and Blue All Over by TailFluffGirl A collection of five narrations about the dynamics/partnership of Kisame and Itachi. My favorite is the "Say Ahhh" chapter because of goofy Deidara, it's really hard not to love him in any given situation or scene. All in all the collection is poignant and never starys from its purpose. It's never too fluffy nor sappy - it's a proper combination of intent and feeling. I adore stories that portray the Akatsuki members with rounded characters - they could very well be vicioud but still there's two sides to a coin, ne? Read it!

There will be more coming up. I used two types of Explorers and both yielded good results.

There were so many comical moments that the artist caught on paper and to capture such minute but prolific detail with regards to the characters are precious. the artist uses rough lines giving the images a very raw feel, it's brilliant. It's obvious that Deidara, Sasori and Gaara are favorites, but as (personally) an Itachi fan - the little doodles (as one with Deidara and itachi in casual clothes and the 1000 hit banner with Deidara and Itachi and sharkified Kisame) make the site all the more enjoyable to explore. I wish Kimimaro was included in there somehow :B *kidding* (wants Kimimaro with Gaara)...

[2]Sasori|Deidara Another fanart site showcasing Sasori and Deidara, I like layout and it's also viewer friendly. The buttery color made me feel lulled; though I could guess that the effect it aimed for was a color remminiscent of sand (but me being me...it's all about food ^^). The style of this artist uses supple lines matched with pale colors. The illustrations look elegant indeed. And there's one image there that shows a rather candid moment between Sasori and Deidara; the latter examining his toes. I am a sucker for such drawings - to be able to incorporate characters in everyday triviality that we enjoy as normal human beings. To me that brings the character closer to us, most definitely.

[3]Sasori|Deidara|KisaIta I thought at first that the medium the artist used was oil pastel because of the very apparent texture each drawing possessed. But now I'm not very sure...BUT I am sure as hell that the drawings are wonderful, the style reminds me of those Gundam characters - their faces obtusely young and head a bit enlarged. It's beautiful. The image here that I loved the most was the "Thank You" banner featuring Sakon and Tayuya (just because I rarely see them on fanart). In general the site is easy to navigate and given that it has a plain layout - it's viewer friendly. (Note : If you like Haruno Sakura you will like this site, fyi ^_^)

[4]Itachi|Sasuke *Glee* I said it before and I'll say it again, I will take any Itachi however which way, in whatever form and whoever he's with. I'm just glad no one was around when I was looking through the site as i kept giggling and cooing at the cutest itachi images that I've seen. Nevermind that they're chibified. Oh and the site is a GO! when it comes to navigation and resolution - though I had a tough time finding the images menu in the beginning (but that doesn't matter...ah yes...there's an Itachi at the end of the rainbow) *sparkle*

[5]Deidara|Itachi Do you know that feeling when you suddenly just loose comprehension because you were stunned by something so relevant to YOU as an individual? *points to self* that's how I felt when I saw the contents of this site. I love the layout and image on the index page totally blew me away. There's something mischievous about the drawings; I could be wrong but I hink it has something to do with the eyes. the glints and sparkles, minute touches to round off such prominent drawings. I have a favorite image here of Itachi - it had sepia effects and it looked so melancholic it tugged at my heartstrings. The site has mostly Deidara in it - but with the quality of the Itach works in there - I'm not complaining.

Note: This post would not be possible if not for the brilliant contribution and effort by mellychan the maintainer for the akatsuki_love community, she truly has a big heart, helping out the site. Thank you so very much.

As a follow-up to my earlier post, here's a list of Akatsuki centric sites that offer information, enjoyment and wonderful s-rank pleasantries <3 These sites I enjoy visiting myself, and I guarantee they're all lovely. Of course if you have other resource sites that you want to recommend, just leave a comment or email me at mangenkyou @ gmail.com!

Akatsuki Links : Your Daily Dose of Badness

[1] Itachi – to start it all off here is a community for the most popular member of Akatsuki (because of exposure in anime and manga, etc). Itachi is the link of Akatsuki to the main storyline of the series. This community can be found in LJ. I am not aware if there are other Itachi communities over at greatestjournal or deadjournal (if there are, please send links my way). I myself am an Itachi fan, which is why I was ecstatic to discover the community. Fanworks, discussion and anything Itachi related is accepted.

[2] Akatsuki Love – for the fangirls in all of us. This community is located in LJ and it welcomes fanfiction, fanart, roleplay adverts and OOCness with regards to the various pairings within Akatsuki (as I am a Sasori and Itachi fan). I was thrilled to discover it because I figured it’d be a good source for fic recommendations. I love Akatsuki and I would want its fandom to grow stronger, more detailed and accessible to its fans.

[3] Akatsuki Club – Fanworks and discussion about Akatsuki allowed. This community is a haven for the Akatsuki fan. I believe that the community can still grow and grow and grow…given Naruto’s continuing popularity all over the world. More Naruto fans equals more Akatsuki fans…it’s the law of nature :D

[4] Akatsuki Org - This is the special Akatsuki section taken from the Leaf ninja website. I just had to include it again because even if it’s only a page of information – everything is vital and beneficial to you as an Akatsuki fan. Read and learn and spread the badness ^_^!

[5] Akatsuki Information – This webpage is similar to Akatsuki Org – the information found within is detailed as well. The techniques for each member is also listed – which is pretty awesome and helpful! I also like the section in the site where all the missing nins are listed, providing a backgrounder; you can almost see the coincidental strings that bind the characters together (it just goes to show how wonderfully planned this anime is!)

[6] Akatsuki Club @ deviantart – this is where you go to satisfy your artistic cravings with regards to Akatsuki. The works vary from spectacular to silly – but all of them products of brilliant minds. I enjoy the chibi drawings actually ~ and to see girly Itachis (it gives me chillies – I like Itachi*coughsemecough* but then again …I will take any Itachi I can however which way XP)

[7] The Akatsuki Fanlisting – oh yes...my favorite haunt just because I’m a dork. If I’m not hunting for Kimimaro pictures, I’m constantly clicking on this site (it’s layout is beautiful and information that any good fan will appreciate), and weird as I am I probably saved almost all the codes that were available ; they were all beautiful and I can’t resist a colored Sasori ;-; Through the years Fanlistings have become such vital manifestations of any fandom, so show your love and support…JOIN!

I’ll end here, for now. Rest assured I shall keep searching for more Akatsuki related stuff. Right now I’m looking into more LJ based communities for Deidara, Sasori, Zetsu and Akatsuki leader.

    <lj:music>shi no jundo - getbackers ost (akabane)</lj:music>

It would be wise for the kick off post to be about general information sites.

As we all know Naruto has been and is continuously being introduced to many parts of the world. So it would not hurt at all to have a list of vital pages that could provide introductory information with regards to the series and the characters within. The level of knowledge that I have of Akatsuki is limited to the anime, I have no access or resource to purchase both – but the net comes in handy for that particular agenda. Lucky for Naruto fans – there are helpful communities and sites out there that accept requests and are willing to provide further material for further entertainment and knowledge.

I picked out a few sites, sites that in my opinion gives out detailed and organized information, being that the series contains so many things that one has to remember or at least be familiar with. My guidelines for recommendation follow three simple steps – information, detail and site navigation. It is in no way to tear down any site. It is just to give all of you choices. Of course suggestions and further recommendation is always appreciated.

Naruto links : General Information

[1] Leaf Ninja - This is probably my favorite site when it comes to Naruto information, because of it’s spoiler warning method. The authors of the site provided the viewers with a guide, rating information within the site. The layout is viewer friendly, good color contrast with black characters and a light background. The size of the fonts are also conducive to large amounts of reading and as I’d like to call my surfing time for Naruto – “study time”. The site goes into detail with regards to timelines, techniques and manga/anime comparisons. For those who have the anime but don’t have the manga (like me) the site proves most useful. You will be astounded if not pleased with the amount of things you will pick up from this site.

But my most favorite site feature is the Akatsuki section that they provide including attire, ring symbolisms and a link to a good site that explains the meaning of the symbols on each of the member’s rings. The section also provides info (what little is available) on the “bijuu”. It’s a good source to start your Akatsuki research ^_^ You will not be sorry.

[2] Naruto Chaos – Mainly a download site, it provides a wide range of multimedia about the series, well-appreciated by the Naruto-hungry populace. If that isn’t enough, the site also gives basic information, FAQs and guides with regards to the series. Navigation is easy and the layout is viewer friendly, image loading takes minimal time, so you wouldn’t find it hard at all to look through the site. There is no Akatsuki section for this site, but it’s definitely worth visiting.

[3] Naruto RP - A message board that has formed eVillages within its confines. It’s a massive community and a good place to give your Naruto knowledge a go. RP is one of the best ways to test your appreciation for the series of your choice, and one of the easiest ways to meet people with the same interests. Before entering this site, you must register ^_^

[4] Naruto-kun - Another one of my favorites. I love the fact that the site contains access and information about Naruto in varying degrees. You may have a straight up manga and anime fan who will definitely benefit from their episode summaries/downloads. Then you may have fans that are interested in other media as the site provides information on the majority of products that came from the series. There is also a chatroom – always a good place for interaction amongst the followers of the series. My favorite place here is the “Bloodline Limit” section, because it explains a bit about Kaguya Kimimaro (fan as I am). And also the “Villages” section – for it’s the first site that sort of distinguished “what was what and who was who” for me in the early stages of my fangirling.

[5] Naruto kun Oxidation – This is a forum site. The layout is superb, becoming of it’s name and it’s also easy to navigate. You have to be a member to explore, but it’s worth it since they do provide information and multimedia downloads, they also have a mailing list service providing you with wonderful anime information sent directly to your email addy. I love the news info on their main page – and the polls they conduct. Right now, they’re running a poll as to who is the best fighter in the series - Uzumaki Naruto is number one, but Uchiha Itachi is running a close second...so vote. Vote for Itachi *hee*

[6] Chuunin – Let’s go closer to home, shall we? Chuunin is the largest Naruto community available to people in Livejournal. It can be said that it’s the place where both the experts and the learners gather. Whether it be information about the anime or manga, fanworks, roleplay or just plain discussion – this community is the place to go. Despite it’s size, I like the fact that it’s organized and well monitored.
